2FA code generator

Paste a two-factor authentication secret key and get the current six-digit code. Codes are calculated in your browser; your key is never sent to our server.

Keys can contain spaces. You can also paste a full otpauth:// link. "Remember" stores the text unencrypted in this browser only; leave it off on shared computers.

How to use it

  1. Copy the 2FA secret key (also called setup key or manual entry key).
  2. Paste it above. The current code appears with a countdown.
  3. Enter the code on the login page before the countdown ends.

Frequently asked questions

What is a 2FA secret key?

It is the long text (often 16 to 32 letters and digits) that an authenticator app turns into six-digit codes. It is shown when you set up two-factor authentication, sometimes as a QR code and sometimes as a text key.

Is my key sent to your server?

No. The codes are calculated by JavaScript in your own browser. The key is never sent to AcctBuy or anywhere else. Even so, only paste keys into pages you trust, and never share a key with anyone you do not trust.

Why does the code change every 30 seconds?

Codes are time-based (TOTP). Your key and the current time produce a new code every 30 seconds, so a code that was seen once soon stops working.

The code is rejected. What should I check?

Make sure the key was copied completely, that you use the code before the countdown ends, and that your device clock is correct. Some services use a different period or hash; paste the full otpauth:// link in that case.

Can I generate codes for several accounts?

Yes. Put one key per line. You can add a label before the key (for example name:KEY) so you can tell the rows apart.
