Account security checklist
An account is only as safe as the habits around it. Use this checklist right after you buy an account or create your own.
Change the credentials first
- Change the password to a long, unique one that you have not used anywhere else.
- Where the platform allows it, replace the recovery email and phone number with ones you control.
- Sign out of other sessions or devices if the platform offers that option.
Turn on two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) asks for a second proof, usually a six-digit code from an authenticator app, in addition to the password. An authenticator app is generally safer than SMS codes. Save the backup or recovery codes in a safe place.
Use a password manager
A password manager creates and stores unique passwords so you do not have to remember them or reuse them.
Protect your AcctBuy account too
Your balance and order history deserve the same care. Turn on two-factor authentication in your dashboard, keep your API key private and regenerate it if you think it has leaked.
Respect platform rules
Every platform has its own terms of service. Read them before you use an account, and follow them.
